College Basketball: Rutgers women top Temple

Laney was 10 of 15 from the field and had five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Copper missed only four of her 12 attempts and grabbed seven rebounds.

Rachel Hollivay added 14 points with four blocks for Rutgers (8-1) and Tyler Scaife scored 10 and had six assists. Briyona Canty finished with nine points, eight rebounds, five assists, and five steals.

Tyonna Williams hit four three-pointers and finished with 14 points for Temple (3-6).

Swarthmore 70, Widener 68 - Elle Larsen scored 28 points and junior Jessica Jowdy hit the game-winning shot in the final seconds to lead the host Garnet (3-5). Freshman Allison Gallagher scored 14 points for Widener (3-5).

Men

Rowan 76, The College of New Jersey 59 - The Profs rolled over Lions in Glassboro for their fourth straight victory.

Senior forward Mike Simpson (Washington Twp.) led Rowan (7-1, 4-1 New Jersey Athletic Conference) with 20 points. Junior guard Kris O'Connor (Paul VI) added 18 points, and junior Ike Robinson (Conwell-Egan) chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds.

Junior Bobby Brackett led the Lions (3-6, 1-4) with 20 points and eight boards.

Holy Family 79, Bowie State 68 - Redshirt junior Reggie Charles (Father Judge) led the visiting Tigers with a game-high 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field. Junior Isaiah Gans (Redemption Christian Academy) finished with 22 points for Holy Family (7-1), which beat Bowie State (6-4) for the first time.
