Temple players savor the bowl experience

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Allen Iverson might not think much of it, but there are a number of Temple players who are sad to see practice end.

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Allen Iverson might not think much of it, but there are a number of Temple players who are sad to see practice end.

For all intents and purposes, Sunday morning's practice at Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach was the last for the Owls as they prepare for Tuesday's Boca Raton Bowl against Toledo.

On Monday the team will do a walk-through at FAU Stadium, site of the game. The seniors are attempting to tread the fine line between savoring each final memory and going about business. It's a line that as the days are winding down, is being crossed.

"I am trying to take this all in," said all-conference defensive end Nate D. Smith, a fifth-year senior who redshirted when Temple went to its last bowl in 2011, the New Mexico Bowl. "I am trying to have as much fun as I can, just being with my team."

Another fifth-year senior, receiver John Christopher is taking none of his remaining days with the program for granted.

"I am savoring it all," Christopher said. "Each moment with my teammates, I am trying to enjoy."
