Temple announced home-and-home football series with Akron and Massachusetts on Monday.

The Owls will travel to Akron on Sept. 11, 2021, and the Zips will play in Philadelphia on Sept. 2, 2023.

Temple will visit UMass on Oct. 10, 2020, and the Minutemen will play in Philadelphia on Sept. 24, 2022.

Last season, Temple beat UMass, 29-21, at Lincoln Financial Field. In 2015, Temple won a wild 25-23 decision over UMass at Gillette Stadium, the home of the New England Patriots. It is undetermined where the game at UMass will be played in 2020.

As for Akron, both Temple and the Zips were members of the MAC from 2007-11 and met in each of those five seasons, with the Owls winning all five games.

Temple plays four nonleague games per year.
