AAC basketball honors for Temple's Quinton Rose, Nate Pierre-Louis

Temple sophomore Quinton Rose was named an honorable mention choice on the American Athletic Conference all-conference teams, while guard Nate Pierre-Louis earned a spot on the all-rookie team.

Temple sophomore Quinton Rose was named an honorable mention choice on the American Athletic Conference all-conference teams, while guard Nate Pierre-Louis earned a spot on the all-rookie team.

The 6-foot-8 Rose, a member of the all-rookie team last year, is Temple's leading scorer, averaging 14.9 points per game. He is fifth in the AAC in steals, averaging 1.6 per game. Rose also averages 4.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

The 6-4 Pierre-Louis came on strong after not seeing much playing time in the first month of the season. He averages 8.1 points and 3.3 rebounds and is among Temple's top defensive players.

In American Athletic Conference games, Pierre-Louis averaged 9.9 points per game in 20.4 minutes per game

The awards were voted by the league's 12 head coaches.

Temple (16-14, 8-10 AAC) will open play in Thursday's conference tournament with a 7 p.m. game against Tulane (14-16, 5-13) at the Amway Center in Orlando.
