Temple-Boston College prediction: Will the Owls’ winning streak end?
Temple has won two in a row, while Boston College (3-1) is looking to bounce back from a 30-13 loss at Purdue.
The last time Temple's football team was a double-digit underdog, the Owls had their best game of the year, winning 35-14 at Maryland two weeks ago. The Owls were a 14-point underdog then and now are a 15-point 'dog for Saturday's game at Boston College. There are two differences in the game. Maryland was 2-0 with a win over Texas and was feeling pretty good about itself. Boston College just lost 30-13 at Purdue, with quarterback Anthony Brown throwing four interceptions. So the Eagles won't be in a very good mood.
Boston College is a better team than Maryland, and containing running back AJ Dillon (491 yards rushing, 6.3 avg., 4 TDs) will be the key for the Owls. Despite Brown's performance last week, he is a better passer than either of the Maryland quarterbacks, so Temple should be tested in the air. That Maryland game turned Temple's season around. The Owls, coming off a 31-17 win over Tulsa, have scored three defensive touchdowns during the last two games. They will probably need another one to keep pace with the Eagles, but even that may not be enough.
Prediction: Boston College 31, Temple 28
