Women's College Basketball: Villanova women school La Salle

The Villanova women's basketball team cruised past La Salle, 70-36, using a 19-3 run spanning the last 10 minutes of the first period to take a 32-15 halftime lead at The Pavilion on Sunday night and halt the Explorers' win streak at six.

Micahya Owens (Willingboro) was the lone Explorer in double figures, hitting 14 points and recording a game-high four steals.

Taylor Holeman led a trio of Wildcats in double figures with 16.

The Explorers dropped to 6-3, 0-3 Big Five, while the Wildcats moved to 3-6, 1-1.

Florida State 66, Temple 62 - Erica Covile recorded a double-double with 14 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, but the host Owls couldn't finish a late comeback and fell to the Seminoles.

Pittsburgh 72, Drexel 53 - Rachel Pearson (Archbishop Carroll) and Alexis Smith led the Dragons with 11 points apiece, but the host Panthers prevailed.

Rutgers-Camden 80, Yeshiva 36 - Alex Gravinese (Audubon) scored a career-high 27 points, and the host Scarlet Raptors (2-7) won the nonconference game.

Lycoming 83, Penn College 61 - Shelby Mueller (Spring-Ford) notched a career-high 16 points, and the Warriors topped the crosstown-rival Wildcats.

Bentley 72, Holy Family 61 - Erin Fenningham (St. Basil) led the visiting Tigers (6-4) with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Fenningham also grabbed six rebounds to go along with four assists and three steals in the loss to the Falcons (5-5).

Holy Family's winning streak ended at six games.
