NFL | Ex-Eagle won't report to Bills

Newly acquired defensive tackle Darwin Walker said he won't report to the Buffalo Bills until he receives a contract extension. Traded by the Eagles in March in the deal that sent linebacker Takeo Spikes to Philadelphia, Walker said yesterday he hasn't visited Buffalo and will not report until a new contract is completed.

Walker has two years remaining on his contract.

"Yes, he's under contract, and that contract was traded to Buffalo," agent Allen Irby said. "But it was traded to Buffalo with the understanding that we wanted a new deal. They made the trade knowing that this had to happen."

Irby said he has been in discussions with the team.

Steelers. Former Pitt running back Kevan Barlow signed a one-year contract with Pittsburgh. Barlow is expected to compete with Najeh Davenport to be Willie Parker's backup.

Ravens. Baltimore quarterback Steve McNair was charged with driving under the influence in Nashville, even though police said his brother-in-law was behind the wheel of the pickup registered to the former Tennessee Titan.

The law used to charge McNair doesn't consider whether the vehicle owner was drinking, only whether the driver was impaired.

Falcons. Two friends of Michael Vick told SI.com they are convinced the Atlanta quarterback has been involved in illegal dogfighting at a home he owns in Virginia. Vick has denied knowledge of the dogs.

Also, Atlanta released cornerback Jason Webster.

Noteworthy. Tennessee cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones and Chicago defensive tackle Tank Johnson are scheduled to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Suspended for the 2007 season, Jones is scheduled to meet today with Goodell at an undisclosed location in New York to appeal the suspension for conduct detrimental to the NFL.

Johnson will have a hearing Wednesday. Johnson will be released from jail Sunday after serving 60 days of a 120-day sentence for violating parole after a 2005 weapons conviction.
