Survey: Cowboys vote most hated team

THE DALLAS COWBOYS are no longer "America's Team," but are the most hated, and Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has not won over a large percentage of NFL fans, according to a survey released by Public Policy Polling in Raleigh, N.C.

In trying to determine America's most popular team, the poll listed nine choices. The Packers are the favorite team of 22 percent of respondents, while 11 percent prefer the Cowboys, 8 percent each the Chicago Bears, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers, 7 percent the New Orleans Saints, 6 percent the New England Patriots, 4 percent the Washington Redskins, and 2 percent the New York Jets. Twenty-four percent root for someone else or are not sure. The Eagles were not among the nine teams.

The Cowboys are America's most hated team. Dallas is the least favorite team of 22 percent. The next challenger is the Bears (11), followed by the Packers (8), Pats and Redskins (7), Steelers (6), Giants and Jets (4) and Saints (1).

The survey also looked at the favorable and unfavorable ratings of nine of the top quarterbacks in the league.

Vick is by far the least favorite among the group at 26 percent. He is followed by Ben Roethlisberger (15), Eli Manning (11), Tom Brady (8) and Tony Romo (6).

Tim Tebow is America's favorite right now (15 percent), followed closely by the Mannings (14 for Eli and 12 for Peyton), 10 each for Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Brady, 6 for Vick and 4 for Big Ben and Romo.

Asked whether they had a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Vick, 24 percent said favorable, 43 percent said unfavorable and 23 percent that did not know or had no opinion.

As for Rodgers, 53 percent have no opinion of him. Thirty nine percent see him favorably and only 8 percent unfavorably - strong numbers, but not compared to Peyton Manning's 51-9, Brees' 46-6, Tebow's 50-15, or Eli Manning's 44-12. He does best Brady's 35-17, Romo's 23-27 and Roethlisberger's 20-31.
