Eagles' Chaney expects to be ready by April

Linebacker Jamar Chaney said he would be ready to practice in April even after having offseason surgery to repair a herniated disk in his neck, according to the Eagles' website. He said the surgery would help him from suffering the same injury again.

Linebacker Jamar Chaney said he would be ready to practice in April even after having offseason surgery to repair a herniated disk in his neck, according to the Eagles' website. He said the surgery would help him from suffering the same injury again.

"It's coming along pretty good now," Chaney told PhiladelphiaEagles.com "By the end of this month, maybe next month, I should be back to myself 100 percent. I feel pretty good now, working out, squatting, bench pressing, doing the normal stuff I would be doing in the offseason."

He said he should be ready for minicamps and offseason team activities, which typically take place after the draft in April and May.

Chaney started all 16 games for the Eagles last season, first at strong-side linebacker and then in the middle. Of the linebackers on the roster, he has shown the most potential.

Chaney also backed the team's decision to bring back Juan Castillo as defensive coordinator, saying continuity will help the defense improve.

"We're happy he's back because we went through a change last year with a new defensive coordinator, and it takes time to learn the scheme," he said. "This organization, I don't think they're trying to build for the future. We're trying to win right now, so the best thing is for Juan to come back because we already know the scheme."

Ticket prices stay. The Eagles won't raise ticket prices for the 2012 season.

"We appreciate our great fans and our loyal season-ticket holders," team president Joe Banner said in a statement. "We understand that this is a difficult economy, and we're grateful that fans still turned out this season in sellout numbers to support the Eagles. Holding the line on pricing for another year was one way we could thank Philadelphia fans for their continued support."

The Eagles have not raised season ticket prices since before the 2009 season, according to the team. Season-ticket holders will be sent their invoices for the 2012 season this week.
