Eagles Notes: NFL fines Peters, Baker for altercation
Jason Peters was fined $10,000 for his involvement in the fight that followed Redskins nose tackle Chris Baker's blocking Eagles quarterback Nick Foles to the ground in Sunday's game.

Jason Peters was fined $10,000 for his involvement in the fight that followed Redskins nose tackle Chris Baker's blocking Eagles quarterback Nick Foles to the ground in Sunday's game.
Peters' fine was for unnecessarily striking an opponent in the head area after the play was over, according to the NFL office. While the league ruled that Baker's hit was legal and that he would receive no further discipline, he was fined $8,268 for grabbing an opponent by the face mask.
Both Peters and Baker were ejected from the game. No other fines were levied because of the fight. Foles didn't leave the game, and the Eagles eventually won, 37-34.
Former Eagles cornerback Troy Vincent, the NFL executive vice president of football operations, said earlier this week that Baker's block on Foles, on a play initially ruled a Redskins interception, was legal.
Officials, though, penalized Baker for unsportsmanlike conduct and ejected him after the fight. Peters saw the hit on which Foles was blindsided and went right after the nose tackle.
Peters said he shouldn't have responded but also said that if confronted with the same situation again he would do the same thing.
