Former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was sentenced to an 18-day jail term Friday morning in Gilbert, Ariz., according to the website TMZ sports.

A court clerk confirmed via telephone that McNabb pleaded guilty to driving under the influence charges stemming from a June 28 traffic accident in Gilbert, Ariz. A police report said McNabb hit a car that was stopped at a traffic light and a police report later said that McNabb's blood-alcohol content was 0.17, more than twice the Arizona legal limit of 0.08.

This was McNabb's second DUI offense.

During a visit to his college alma mater Syracuse last month, McNabb was asked if he had an alcohol problem. He responded by saying, "absolutely not."

Friday's TMZ report said McNabb will serve his sentence in a county jail, and then be required to spend 72 days in home detention. The report also said he will have to perform 30 days of community service and undergo alcohol counseling. After that, he will be on unsupervised probation, the report said. McNabb must also pay a $6,342.23 fine.

Thomas Connelly, the attorney for McNabb, told TMZ that the six-time Pro Bowl quarterback's jail sentence includes a work-release program, which will allow him to work during the day and serve his time at night. McNabb had been a commentator for Fox sports, but he was suspended indefinitely after being arrested on the second DUI charge.

McNabb's first DUI offense occurred on Dec. 15, 2013, when, according to a police report, he was stopped for driving 81 m.p.h. in a 65-m.p.h. zone. McNabb pleaded guilty and served one day in jail in April 2014 after that incident.
