Domo's Eagles' Report Card

Weblede here

Here is Paul Domowitch's report card for the Eagles-Bengals game. Click here to send in your own grades.

RUSHING OFFENSE

The Eagles should have been able to run the ball on the Bengals, who came in ranked near the bottom of the league in run defense. Despite using two- and three-tight end sets on 25 of 32 plays in the first half, the Eagles averaged just 2.6 yards per carry. And that was with 10 and 7 yard runs by Carson Wentz.

GRADE: F

PASSING OFFENSE

If you needed any convincing that Jordan Matthews is the team's offensive MVP, Sunday provided it. With Matthews out with an ankle injury, Carson Wentz had his worst game of the season. He threw three interceptions, and that number easily could've been six or seven. He averaged just 5.1 yards per attempt.

GRADE: F

RUN DEFENSE

Stopping the run wasn't a problem for the Eagles. Rex Burkhead had a 16-yard run late in the second quarter, but the Bengals only averaged 2.4 yards per carry

GRADE: A-minus

PASS DEFENSE

The Eagles managed to make struggling Andy Dalton, who had a 69.7 passer rating in the previous three games, look like Tom Brady. He completed 74.2 percent of his passes and made mincemeat of the Eagles' secondary. For the second straight game, the Eagles failed to register a sack.

GRADE: F

SPECIAL TEAMS

Caleb Sturgis' only field-goal attempt, a 51-yarder, caromed off the right upright. Donnie Jones' first punt, a 30-yarder, allowed the Bengals to start their first scoring drive at midfield. Kenjon Barner had a 61-yard kickoff return. The Eagles' coverage units shut down return man Alex Erickson.

GRADE: B

OVERALL

It's one thing to get torched by Aaron Rodgers. It's another to let Andy Dalton and an A.J. Green-less receiving corps take your lunch money. The defense was godawful. Couldn't get pressure and couldn't cover. And being without Jordan Matthews shouldn't have castrated the offense the way it did.
