Eagles sign tight end Will Shaw, release Miquel Maysonet

The Eagles signed undrafted rookie tight end Will Shaw and officially released running back Miquel Maysonet on Monday.

Shaw took part in Eagles rookie minicamp two weeks ago as a tryout. The 6-foot-2, 242-pound Shaw caught 35 passes for 429 yards and five touchdowns at Youngstown State last year.

He recently also tried out for the Steelers. The Eagles now have seven tight ends on their roster -- Brent Celek, James Casey, Zach Ertz, Clay Harbor, Derek Carrier, Emil Iqwenagu are the first six -- but Ertz isn't at OTAs because of the NFL's graduation rule.

Harbor made news recently because he said he took some snaps at outside linebacker last week. With Celek, Casey and Ertz virtually assured roster spots, it's going to be tough to make the team as a fourth tight end.

We had the news of Maysonet's expected release last night. Here's more on that.
