Latest Eagles draft buzz

Draft Diary: Wait almost over for Kuechly

With the draft only hours away, here's a roundup of the latest buzz:

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network thinks the Eagles could make a move for Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill:

Why do I keep hearing the #Eagles may trade up to grab Tannehill if he's there at 11? Not sure. But I do.

Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network says the Eagles "covet" Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox:

With seemingly so little separating many of the pass rushers in this draft, and that being something the Eagles are looking at, Philly is perched in the middle of the first round with the ability to go in any direction. They really covet Fletcher Cox, from what I hear, though moving up to get him would be steep (the Eagles do have an arsenal of picks, however). They could drop back to the 20s and still land someone to give them a push off the edge.

Chad Reuter of NFL.com thinks the Eagles could move into the top 10 for Cox also:

The Philadelphia Eagles trade into the top 10 to pick a defensive tackle. Andy Reid and the Eagles moved up in the first round in 2003 (to get DE Jerome McDougle), 2004 (OT Shawn Andrews), 2009 (WR Jeremy Maclin) and 2010 (DE Brandon Graham). They have an extra second-round pick from the Kevin Kolb trade as ammunition, so look for a move to get a defensive tackle to rush the passer (Mississippi State's Fletcher Cox) and/or shore up the run defense (LSU's Michael Brockers or Memphis' Dontari Poe).

I could see them making a move for Cox. Would be stunned if they traded up for Brockers or Poe.

Peter Schrager of FoxSports.com throws out a wild card. Cornerback Janoris Jenkins at 15:

I think Jenoris Jenkins could go as high as 15 to the Eagles tonight. I know they like him. A lot.

And some new mocks:

Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com thinks the Birds will take LSU DT Michael Brockers:

The Eagles need help on the defensive line and Brockers is big enough and versatile enough to play just about anywhere they want him.

Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel likes the Birds to grab South Carolina cornerback Stephon Gilmore:

The Eagles have never been a big safety team and easily bypass Mark Barron. Undersized outside for years, Gilmore would become the fourth 6-foot corner the team has added in 13 months.

Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com thinks it'll be Gilmore too:

With veteran Asante Samuel traded, cornerback becomes quite possibly the biggest need for the Eagles. Keep in mind this is just how the mock falls, so Gilmore is still on the board, but in the real thing, he's likely to be gone. And Gilmore will give the team a presence at slot CB while being able to play outside.

The NJ.com writers thinks the Birds could take South Carolina defensive end Melvin Ingram:

He fits in well with Jim Washburn's mentality and can help out with a hand in the dirt and as a linebacker. With as much as the Eagles are trying to do on defense, having such a versatile option will make things much easier. Ingram, though, may not be around at this point given the Tannehill scenario, he's also a nice fit with Seattle.
