McCoy: "Why wouldn't I want to play?"

Don't count LeSean McCoy among those that feel the Eagles should sit him for the rest of the season.

The Eagles running back suffered a concussion last month against the Redskins and missed four games, but Andy Reid said earlier today that McCoy will start Sunday in the rematch against Washington. McCoy was asked why he would want to play in an otherwise meaningless game.

"Why wouldn't I want to play? They pay me to play this game," McCoy said. "I love this game. So why wouldn't I play?"

McCoy suffered his concussion late in a blowout loss down in Landover, Md. Reid was criticized by many for leaving the Eagles' franchise running back in. McCoy said it was the first time he ever had a concussion.

"Aw, man, no. I don't live like that -- to just take off," McCoy said. "Just like the play when I got hurt -- people blame coach for it, but I wanted to be in there. I'm a competitor. So I'm going to finish the season out if I'm healthy."

Bryce Brown was effective in place of McCoy. In his first two starts, Brown ran for 347 yards and four touchdowns. He fumbled three times in those games, however, and gained only 40 yards on 28 carries in the next two games.

While McCoy will start Sunday, Reid said that his workload won't be as much as it typically is and that Brown will rotate into the lineup. McCoy was asked how his first full practice went with Brown in an increased role.

"We rotated a lot. I don't there was a lot of change," McCoy said. "We rotated even before he had the two big games. I don't think it's a big difference."
