No quick sellout: Eagles have tickets left

New coach's debut, Andy Reid's return, Dallas game still available morning after sale began.

For the first time in at least six years, the Philadelphia Eagles have single-game tickets left the day after they went on sale.

In at least four of those years, tickets reportedly were gone within an hour.

And yet, this season could still have the earliest sellout by far -- the other sales all happened in mid-June, with the exception of an early August sale after 2011 NFL lockout.

This morning, according to Ticketmaster.com, fans could still get seats to seven regular-season home games.

The ever-popular matchup against the Dallas Cowboys (Oct. 20) was not sold out, and neither were Chip Kelly's first real game as Eagles head coach, a Sept. 15 contest against the San Diego Chargers, or the Sept. 19 return of Andy Reid, this time as new head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Only the Oct. 27 game against the New York Giants was a sellout as of shortly before 8 a.m.

Uncertainties about Kelly, the eventual starting quarterback and the system of defense, as well as last season's dreadful record, likely play roles in dampening fan enthusiasm.

Maybe another month of news about Kelly would have meant brisker sales.

Prices are only $5 to $10 higher per seat, up to $75 to $105, plus fees, from $70 to $95 a year ago. The limit is the same: four seats per game.

This year, the Eagles also offered standing room tickets the same day as single-game seats. In some past years, standing room tickets were offered at a later date. Last year it was late July. The price, $55, is the same.

Perhaps having that cheaper option available undercut demand for seats.

All sales are through Ticketmaster. Go to ticketmaster.com (it's smart to have an account and be logged in as the time approaches), or deal with a phone rep by calling the national sales number, 1-800-745-3000.

Tickets will not be sold at Ticketmaster retail outlets or at Lincoln Financial Field.

Here's the schedule. Be sure to note that the two August games are exhibitions, and that the times of games marked with an asterisk could be changed for television. All games are on a Sunday, unless noted:
