Samuel, Bell questionable for Friday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Cornerback Asante Samuel and running back Mike Bell are questionable for Friday's preseason game at Cincinnati, Eagles coach Andy Reid said this morning following the last training camp practice at Lehigh.

Samuel left Tuesday morning's practice complaining of a hamstring injury. The cornerback was seen later walking without a limp. It's Samuel's second hamstring injury of training camp, but it isn't expected to be anything serious.

Bell, who strained his calf Sunday, practiced Wednesday after missing the previous two days, but this morning's session was a very light run-through in shorts.

Center/guard Nick Cole (knee), guard Todd Herremans (foot), center Jamaal Jackson (knee), cornerback David Pender and defensive end Victor Abiamiri (knee) are out for Friday, Reid said.

Cole has hardly practiced over the last two weeks due to swelling in his knee. The center/guard did partake in a light practice Sunday afternoon. Mike McGlynn has started at center in his place and will play with the first team Friday for the second straight game. Herremans and Jackson, recently taken off the Physically Unable to Perform List, are coming along, Reid said. Abiamiri is the only player that remains on the PUP.

Reid said that quarterback Kevin Kolb and the first team offense and defense will play the first half Friday, Michael Vick and the second team will play the third quarter and Mike Kafka and the third team will play the fourth quarter.

Cornerback Ellis Hobbs returned to practice Wednesday after sitting out Tuesday with an illness. Tight end Cornelius Ingram (knee), cornerback Macho Harris (hamstring) and safety Quintin Demps (knee) all practice and will be available to play Friday.
