Kicker Caleb Sturgis has a hip flexor tear, a source told Philadelphia Media Network, and could miss a few weeks. The Eagles will work out kickers this week, coach Doug Pederson said Monday.

Pederson said the Eagles were still gathering more information about Sturgis. Sturgis injured his hip early in Sunday's 30-17 win over the Washington Redskins. The injury seemed to get worse as the game progressed, and the Eagles went for a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter in part because of Sturgis' injury.

The Eagles will have a decision to make on Sturgis. They could use the injured reserve with a designation to return, but that would keep Sturgis out for eight weeks. They could cut someone else and carry two kickers on the roster if they thought Sturgis would be back before then. But that would also require the Eagles' dropping a young player they like.

More information to come.
