Forsberg injures right foot again

NEW YORK - Peter Forsberg has pulled out of the Karjala Cup international tournament because of unspecified problems with his right foot.

NEW YORK - Peter Forsberg has pulled out of the Karjala Cup international tournament because of unspecified problems with his right foot.

Forsberg talked to the Flyers last weekend about playing in the tournament and then making a decision on whether he could return to the NHL.

"All we know is he pulled out," said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. "We have to get the medical reports and see what they say. I know he was looking forward to playing."

Asked whether Forsberg needs to take a hard at his future and admit that his right foot may never been what it once was, Holmgren replied, "I still think he wants to play. I don't think he is at that point yet [of retiring]."
