Rangers rout Capitals

The New York Rangers got two goals from Ryan Callahan and single goals from five others as they drubbed the Washington Capitals, 7-0, on Sunday night at Madison Square Garden.

Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves to record his fifth shutout of the season.

Elsewhere: Corey Perry scored on a penalty shot while recording his first career hat trick, powering the host Anaheim Ducks to a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild. . . . Henrik Sedin had a goal and an assist, and the visiting Vancouver Canucks beat the Edmonton Oilers, 2-1.

Naslund's journey to the top

When Markus Naslund came to Vancouver in 1996, he had such a tough time just getting into the Canucks' lineup that he never could have expected to have his number retired by the team. That's what made Saturday night so much sweeter for the Swedish forward.

Naslund's number was the third raised to the rafters by the Canucks, joining Stan Smyl (12) and Trevor Linden (16). - Staff and wire reports
