Flyers Notes: White one of few standouts in Flyers loss

NEWARK, N.J. - Searching for a bright spot Sunday in the Flyers' 5-2 loss at New Jersey was difficult, but one needed to look no further than center Ryan White.

NEWARK, N.J. - Searching for a bright spot Sunday in the Flyers' 5-2 loss at New Jersey was difficult, but one needed to look no further than center Ryan White.

White had his first multi-point game with the Flyers, earning a goal and an assist. When asked about White's performance coach Craig Berube said, "It's good."

Then he talked about some not-so-good performances.

"I thought a lot of our workers played well tonight and played hard and did a lot of good things," Berube said. "Our top players were mentally not there."

On this night, White was the Flyers' most productive player, but he wasn't about to accept any congratulations. White was as frustrated as the rest of his teammates, not only Sunday but after Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss in Boston when the Bruins sent the game into overtime on a goal with 14.1 seconds remaining in regulation.

"It's a tough break in Boston and I know it is a letdown, but we have to have a better effort than that," White said.

Del Zotto out

Defenseman Michael Del Zotto will miss seven to 10 days with an upper-body injury, the Flyers said. Del Zotto was injured in Saturday's loss.

Del Zotto blocked a shot with his foot midway through the first period. He returned in the second period and then finished the game.

Brandon Manning was called up from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and played 15 minutes, 36 seconds.

Loose pucks

The Devils finished the season 3-1-0 against the Flyers. . . . Goalie Steve Mason was credited with his third assist this season on Michael Raffl's shorthanded goal.
