Updated on August 22, 2013 after the announcement of the Flyers' local television broadcast schedule for the season.

After a long delay, the National Hockey League finally announced the Flyers' 2013-14 regular season schedule.

The Flyers will start the season on Wednesday, October 2 with a home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. With the league set to break for the Olympics from February 9-26, there are a lot of game jammed into the first half of the season.

That includes the traditional long road trip during the holiday season, as the Wells Fargo Center is taken over by Disney on Ice. This year, the Flyers will head out west for five games starting December 28: at Edmonton, Vancouver, Calgary, Colorado and Phoenix. There's also a January 7 game at New Jersey before a homecoming on January 8 against Montréal.

There's also a 12-day road trip that includes the early parts of December. Between November 28 and December 11, the Flyers will visit Nashville, Minnesota, Detroit, Dallas and Chicago. They'll come home on December 12 to host Montréal.

That game will be Danny Brière's first in Philadelphia since the Flyers bought him out and the Canadiens signed him. Brière will welcome the Flyers to Montréal in the Flyers' second game of the season, on December 5.

Columbus' Sergei Bobrovsky, who won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's best goaltender this past season, will visit Philadelphia on December 19. That's the first game of a home-and-home with the Blue Jackets, with the second game taking place in Columbus on December 21.

Los Angeles, the so-called "Flyers West," will come to town towards the end of the season on March 24. In addition to Mike Richards, Jeff Carter and Justin William, the Kings' roster now includes Dan Carcillo.

As for new Flyers facing their old teams, the biggest game will be Vincent Lecavalier's return to Tampa Bay on November 27. Ray Emery will face the Blackhawks in Chicago on December 11, and Mark Streit will pay the first of two visits to the New York Islanders on October 26.

Under the NHL's new division alignment and leaguewide schedule, the Flyers will visit and host every team in the league at least once. Click here or a full breakdown of the new divisions and how many times the Flyers will play teams in their own divisions and the others.

The Flyers will have 19 games nationally televised this season. One is confirmed for NBC over the air, at Pittsburgh on April 12. Fourteen will air on NBC Sports Network, with some being simulcast locally on Comcast SportsNet. Four others will air on either NBC or NBC Sports Network depending on NBC's flex scheduling decisions.

Local television and radio broadcast information was announced on August 22. Comcast SportsNet will air 63 games, and The Comcast Network will air eight. On the radio, WPEN 97.5-FM will have 64 games, and WMMR 93.3-FM will have 18 games due to scheduling conflicts.

Training camp will open on September 12 at the Wells Fargo Center, with practices free and open to the public from September 12-14.
