The snowy, windy conditions will not stop the Flyers from playing Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Center, a club spokesman confirmed.
The game between the Flyers and New York Islanders will be played. Sleds and sleighs are recommended.
It was expected to be the NHL debut for 6-foot, 200-pound winger Tyrell Goulbourne, but he had travel problems coming from Toronto and won't be in the lineup.
He would have brought some much-needed physicality to the lineup.
Goulbourne, 23, an Edmonton native, was selected by the Flyers in the third round (72nd overall) of the 2013 draft.
The Islanders have lost three straight and are just 5-9-2 since the start of December.
Like the Flyers, the Isles' compete level has been inconsistent.
"I think for sure our attitude could be a little more strong," Anders Lee, the Islanders' high-scoring 6-3, 231-pound left winger, told Newsday. "Guys are unhappy with what's going on…so we're going to change it."
The Flyers, losers of five of their last seven games, had similar sentiments after Wednesday's practice.
