Woods' niece eliminated in Publinx

BANDON, Ore. - Vietnam's Brianna Do and Texas high school star Marissa Dodd advanced to the Women's U.S. Amateur Public Links final at Bandon Dunes.

BANDON, Ore. - Vietnam's Brianna Do and Texas high school star Marissa Dodd advanced to the Women's U.S. Amateur Public Links final at Bandon Dunes.

Do beat topped 16-year-old Annie Park of Levittown, N.Y., 2 and 1, in the semifinals Friday on Bandon Trails. Park had beaten Cheyenne Woods, the niece of Tiger Woods, 3 and 2, in the morning quarterfinals.

The 17-year-old Dodd, from Allen, Texas, beat Tiffany Lua, a UCLA player from Rowland Heights, Calif., 2 and 1, in the semis.

Qualifying medalist Corbin Mills and Derek Ernst each won two matches Friday to advance to the U.S. Amateur Public Links final on Bandon Dunes' Old Macdonald course.

Mills, a 21-year-old Clemson player from Easley, S.C., beat Georgia's Harris English, 5 and 3, in the semifinals.

Derek Ernst, the Clovis, Calif., player who won the 2010 and 2011 Mountain West Conference titles for UNLV, defeated former Mississippi star Jonathan Randolph, 3 and 2, in the semifinals.

Elsewhere: John Cook and John Huston shot 9-under 63s to match the course record and share the first-round lead in the Montreal Championship in Blainville, Quebec, the Champions Tour's lone Canadian event. . . . James Morrison shot a 5-under 66 to take a 1-stroke lead after the second round of the French Open in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
