Local players ousted from U.S. Amateur

Jeff Osberg of Philadelphia was ousted in the first round of match play Wednesday at the U.S. Amateur Championship at Cherry Hills in Colorado.

Steve Fox, a senior at Tennessee-Chattanooga, opened with three bogeys but rallied for a 3-and-2 victory.

Nick Reach of Moscow, Pa., exited when Patrick Duncan Jr. of California posted a 1-up victory.

Pennsylvania Open

 Clayton Rotz of Chambersburg Country Club won the Pennsylvania Open at Nemacolin Woodlands in Farmington by 3 strokes. He shot a 1-over-par 73 after two consecutive rounds of 66, finishing at 11-under 205.

Mark Sheftic of Blue Bell tied for 18th at 219.
