Wakefern Food Corp., the marketing and distribution arm of ShopRite, announced a five-year extension of its agreement with the LPGA to continue as title sponsor of the ShopRite LPGA Classic through 2023.

This is the 26th year in which Wakefern has been title sponsor for the event, which starts Friday at the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway, N.J.

"Over the past 25-plus years, ShopRite has become family to the LPGA and Atlantic City feels like home," LPGA commissioner Mike Whan said. "We are excited that our partnership with Wakefern will allow this tradition to continue for many years to come."

During its association with the LPGA, ShopRite has donated more than $30 million to organizations that promote health care and fight hunger.

"We are proud of our long-running partnership with the LPGA and commitment to this great golfing event," Wakefern chairman and CEO Joseph Colalillo said.
