, who won world championships as a super featherweight and light welterweight, heads the class of 2013 to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, N.Y. The honor, announced Monday, comes three years after his death in Brazil at age 37 under mysterious circumstances.

A native of Italy who was raised in Montreal, Gatti retired in 2007 with a record of 40-9 and 31 knockouts and was selected in his first year of eligibility.

Fans flocked to Atlantic City to see Gatti's fights. Gatti became the first draw to attract more than 100,000 fans through the Boardwalk Hall turnstiles since it reopened in 2001.

He won a 10-round decision in the rubber match with junior welterweight Micky Ward on June 7, 2003, before a sellout crowd of 12,643 - the largest ever for a non-heavyweight fight in Atlantic City.

Also in the class: Virgil Hill, a five-time world champion who won a silver medal as a middleweight at the 1984 Olympics and defended his light heavyweight title 20 times over two reigns. Among those also selected were referee Mills Lane, ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr., and two-time light flyweight champion Myung-Woo Yuh.

Inductees were selected by the Boxing Writers Association and a panel of international boxing historians. Induction ceremonies will be held June 9.

GOLF: The PGA Tour's event in Mexico will anchor a six-tournament schedule next fall that will not include Disney for the first time in more than 40 years.

The tour next year goes to a wraparound season and will offer FedEx Cup points for the six tournaments that will kick off the 2013-14 season. That season will start with the Frys.com Open in San Martin, Calif., on Oct. 10 and conclude with the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Mexico on Nov. 14.

Disney lost its title sponsor when the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals did not renew, and Disney did not aggressively pursue a replacement.

HORSE RACING: The $300,000 Gallant Bob Stakes and the $150,000 Parx Dash have been upgraded to Grade III status, giving Parx Racing 13 major stakes, including eight with graded status. This year's Gallant Bob winner Trinniberg went on to win the Breeders' Cup Sprint.

ARENA FOOTBALL: The Soul announced that single-game tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The team will play eight Saturday games and one Friday, with the home opener at the Wells Fargo Center April 20 against the Cleveland Gladiators.
