Talley and Bullock name their colleges

Winslow Township High wide receiver Julian Talley and Absegami defensive lineman Brandon Bullock - members of The Inquirer's all-South Jersey football team - have made oral commitments to attend major colleges, their high school coaches announced last night.

Winslow Township High wide receiver Julian Talley and Absegami defensive lineman Brandon Bullock - members of The Inquirer's all-South Jersey football team - have made oral commitments to attend major colleges, their high school coaches announced last night.

Talley committed to the University of Massachusetts, while Bullock committed to Marshall.

Talley had 63 catches for 927 yards and 10 touchdowns despite missing four games with a separated shoulder last season. He selected Massachusetts over Minnesota, Bowling Green and Hofstra, Winslow coach Mike McBride said.

Talley, a 6-foot, 180-pounder, is a qualifier under the SAT/GPA guidelines, McBride said. "He really worked hard to get his grades to where they are now," he said.

Talley has run a 4.5 40-yard dash, high-jumped 231/2 feet and high-jumped 6 feet, 6 inches, McBride said.

Bullock visited Marshall over the weekend and made a commitment to the school, Absegami coach Doug Colman said.

Bullock dominated games with his imposing size (6-3, 305 pounds) and surprising quickness. He caused eight fumbles and helped Absegami win the South Jersey Group 4 championship.
