Bill Dooley has been named the head boys' basketball coach at Chestnut Hill Academy.

Dooley, most recently head coach at Germantown Friends, takes over for Mark Burke, the athletic director at CHA.

Burke took a medical leave toward the end of this past season and was replaced by interim coach Matt Paul.

Dooley, 47, has a long coaching history, including stops as the head coach at the University of Richmond (1993-97) and Delaware Valley College (2002-03 and 1998-2000) and as an assistant at La Salle University in 2004.

He guided Germantown Friends to an 18-7 overall record this winter.

CHA was 10-15. The Blue Devils haven't had a winning season since 1998.
