Laura Spinks singled home Sue Schmidt with the game's lone run in the second inning.

In other Olympic action:

Alyssa Maiese rang up 11 strikeouts en route to a one-hitter as Washington Township pinned a 6-0 loss on Cherokee.

Lauren Lomonaco, Chelsea Palumbo and Jamie Miles each connected for two-run triples as Seneca outslugged visiting Triton, 8-5.

Winning pitcher Sam Soprano helped her own cause with two RBIs as Shawnee registered a 6-2 home triumph against Winslow Township.

Danielle Schafhauser tossed a four-hit shutout as Paul VI posted a 3-0 win at rival Bishop Eustace. Bernadette Tenuto scored a run and knocked in another for the Eagles.

Colonial. Noel Simpkins drove in three runs as Sterling continued its push to the conference title with a 7-2 victory at Haddon Heights.

Nicole Hindle delivered a two-run single and Kristen Viereck slapped a two-run double to spark Woodbury's 5-3 home win over Paulsboro. Caitlyn Pipolo had two hits and two runs scored for the Thundering Herd.

Jen Cossaboon twirled a six-hit shutout with three strikeouts as visiting Haddonfield silenced West Deptford, 5-0.

Burlington County. Lauren Visco and Jamie Weaver each drove in two runs to power Moorestown to a 7-2 victory at Pemberton.

Despite being held to two hits, Delran mustered enough offense to capture a 3-0 win over visiting Burlington Township. Lindsey Atzert scored twice for the Bears and Diana Santucci stymied the Falcons, allowing just four singles.

Tri-County. Breann Lewis delivered a key two-run single as Clayton took a five-run lead and held off a late charge for a 5-4 home win over Woodstown. The Wolverines scored all four of their runs in the sixth inning, including two on a Melinda Patrick home run.

Tarrah Marinelli and Shannon McNeeley combined for five hits and four RBIS to back the strong three-hit pitching of Amanda Rencher as Pitman pounded out an 11-0 win at Glassboro. Lauren Schuler chipped in two RBIs for the Panthers.

Cape-Atlantic. Laura Cardone collected her 100th career hit, but Millville couldn't pull off the victory, falling to visiting Vineland, 7-4.

Megan Low hit a grand slam to spark Atlantic City's 10-5 home win over Ocean City. Low finished with six RBIs.

Baseball

Shawnee

clinched at least a tie for the Olympic Conference Patriot Division baseball title by beating host

Quinton Miller started the contest with a two-run homer in the first inning, and John Montemurro went 3 for 4 with two doubles and five runs batted in in support of pitcher John Hydock.

Also in the Olympic, Alex Pracher and Dan Haverstick belted home runs, and Gary Wilson tossed a complete game for Cherokee, which clinched at least a tie for the American Division championship by beating host Washington Township, 7-5.

Home runs by Kevin Stephens and Dan Sieracki accounted for five Bishop Eustace runs as the Crusaders knocked off visiting Paul VI, 7-2. Sieracki went 3 for 3 with four RBIs, including a three-run homer in support of pitcher Kevin Casey.

Matt Tracey launched a grand slam in the first inning, and Justin Carter drove in two runs as Lenape dealt visiting Eastern a 7-5 setback.

Mike Murphy poked a pair of singles, walked twice, scored three runs and drove in another to highlight Timber Creek's 12-2 win over Woodrow Wilson.

Cape-Atlantic. Josh Moren's two-out, two-run single in the second inning was a key hit that sparked Sacred Heart's 4-0 shutout of visiting Middle Township, allowing the Lions to clinch at least a share of the National Conference crown.

Zach Farnsworth's two-run single up the middle was part of a three-run sixth inning that rallied Ocean City past visiting Atlantic City, 4-2.

Absegami held off visiting Hammonton, 8-4, as Nick Maglione delivered a key two-run single in the sixth inning, and winning pitcher Matt Coulter enjoyed a big day. Coulter threw a complete game, and also went 3 for 4 with two doubles and three runs scored.

Burlington County. Steve Giambrone was the winning pitcher as Florence fashioned a 6-0 six-inning no-hitter over visiting Maple Shade, 6-0.

Giambrone pitched four innings with seven strikeouts, while the Flashes' offense featured Chros Foehr's three hits and three RBIs, and Jeff Perro's single, triple and two RBIs.

Tri-County. Ryan Heron doubled twice as part of a 4-for-4, two-RBI effort that guided Overbrook past visiting Gloucester, 10-4. Joe Merlino hit a two-run homer and finished with four RBIs.
