Eagles storm by Minutemen with late flurry
When Mike McBride was asked if he knew the last time Winslow Township's football team defeated Washington Township, he shrugged. "I was probably little," the Winslow Township coach said a few minutes before kickoff.

McBride doesn't have to guess anymore.
His Eagles (1-0) dismantled host Washington Township (0-1) last night, 43-13, in a Burlco/Olympic League inter-divisional game, the season opener for both teams.
In a game scarred by 178 yards in penalties and errors on both sides, the slightly favored Eagles turned it into a rout behind quarterback Ka'Lial Glaud. The junior picked up where he left off last season, completing 11 of 27 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns.
The host Minutemen took a 7-6 lead into intermission on a 2-yard run by Mike Schatzman and Dan Maltese's extra point. However, they squandered scoring chances in the red zone and left head coach Mark Wechter shouting along a sideline: "We are stopping ourselves."
In the second half, Washington Township turned the ball over twice in the fourth period and the Eagles took advantage. Keith Robinson and Courtland Bragg scored on runs of 4 and 10 yards, respectively, to end the game.
Damon Julian, the Eagles' 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver, hauled in a pair of touchdown passes - the first went for 18 yards; the second 65 yards. He also kicked three extra points. The first touchdown catch was in heavy traffic and gave the Eagles a 12-7 edge.
They never looked back.
