Pa. Boys | Bristol pins a loss on Lincoln

Bristol got consecutive first-period pins from Tyler Bliss and Will Meyerle to pull out a 38-30 nonleague wrestling win at Abraham Lincoln yesterday.

Bliss decked Terrell Stepney in 1 minute, 53 seconds at 215 pounds and then Meyerle needed only 1:02 to beat Fernando Baez in the heavyweight bout, the penultimate one of the afternoon.

The match was closed out at 103 with a double forfeit.

, 51-27, for its second win of the season in three matches.

The Cougars (2-1), who also beat Bristol, got pins from Sam Kelly (152 pounds) and the brothers Carson. Clayton, at 160, registered a second-period pin and Jordan Carson earned a first-period pin at 189.

The final pin by the Cougars went to Trace Redmond at 140, who pinned his opponent with one second remaining in the first period.

George School has only been beaten by Chestnut Hill Academy.

Kelly has seven pins in 12 bouts this season.

Rex Roskos is off to an impressive varsity debut. The freshman, who earned a decision against Penn Charter, is unbeaten in three dual meets.

Springfield (Delaware County)

went on the road and earned a 41-28 win at

, thanks, in part, to a decision at 189 pounds by Andre Petroski. He picked up two points in the third period to nip Scott Syrek, 6-4.

The highlight for the Wildcats was a 5-0 decision by Conner McCormick at 145 pounds, topping Steve Scholl.

Ken Pallis beat Andrew Adams in overtime, 5-3, for

in a 39-24 win at

. The decision gave the Hatters a 33-24 lead after the Rams' Ryan Kemmerer pinned to close the gap to 30-24.
