Triton's Chris Howley, a 6-foot-5, 280-pound senior who was an Inquirer all-South Jersey offensive lineman last season, has made an oral commitment to attend Maine on a full football scholarship, Mustangs coach Pete Goetz said yesterday.
Recruits can sign binding letters of intent starting Feb. 6.
"He liked it so much, he canceled his other visits," Goetz said of Maine.
Howley is the second Triton player to earn a Division I-AA scholarship in the last three seasons; the other was quarterback Ryan Folsom, who is now at Monmouth.
