The Prep's Livingston picks Fordham

Jamir Livingston, a three-year starter at tailback for St. Joseph's Prep, has orally committed to play for Fordham. "I liked the school a lot on my visit there over the weekend," he said. "It's not that far from home, but far enough. And the idea of going to school in the city of New York excited me."

Last season, in helping the Hawks go 10-3 overall and reach the Catholic League Red Division championship game, the 5-foot-7, 165-pound Livingston rushed for 1,390 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was a second-team all-Southeastern Pennsylvania selection by The Inquirer.

Livingston will be joining two former Prep players, defensive lineman Brian Tracz and defensive back Dave Mendez, at Fordham.

"It's a good situation for Jamir," Prep coach Gil Brooks said. "He gets to play in a great conference [the Patriot League], he gets a chance to play early, and he has a chance to get a great education."
