Camden Catholic slips past Collingswood in District 28

Matt Sausman survived a dramatic 1-0 decision in the 103-pound final and helped Camden Catholic edge Collingswood by a 2.5-point margin in the race for the team title at the NJSIAA District 28 wrestling championships yesterday at Collingswood.

The Irish also got individual wins from Taylor Walsh (119 pounds), Jackson Brady (145) and Dakota Moore (160) in collecting 177.5 points.

Fifth-seeded Sherrod Smith of Pennsauken captured the Outstanding Wrestler award after beating top-seeded Vinnie Bianchini of Paul VI, 5-4, in the semifinals and second-seeded Mitch Cunningham of Sterling, 8-6, in the finals.
