Spring-Ford registered a routine 96-54 Pioneer Athletic Conference track and field win over visiting Upper Perkiomen yesterday, but Russell Hedrick's performance was anything but routine.

The Rams' Hedrick threw the javelin a school-record 169 feet, 1 inch, shattering a mark that has been held for the last three years by John Culver.

In 2005, Culver threw the javelin 165-10.

The chief beneficiary of the support was pitcher Jerry Dougherty, who allowed six hits over seven innings and earned his fourth win in six outings this season.
