Yarbray is Chester's new coach
It's official. Former assistant coach Larry Yarbray is Chester High's new head boys' basketball coach. Chester athletic director Jeffery Legette confirmed that Yarbray's hiring was approved last night at a meeting of the Chester-Upland school board.

Chester athletic director Jeffery Legette confirmed that Yarbray's hiring was approved last night at a meeting of the Chester-Upland school board.
He replaces Fred Pickett, who retired after leading the Clippers to their sixth PIAA state title in March.
Yarbray, a 1988 Chester graduate, served as a Clippers assistant coach for the last 10 seasons.
Yarbray follows a legend by taking over arguably the state's most storied program.
Pickett, the Southeastern Pennsylvania coach of the year for 2008, had a career record of 331-80 with three Class AAA state titles in 13 seasons.
Fitzgerald named.
Bernie Fitzgerald has been named the head coach at Lansdale Catholic. Fitzgerald, a long-time assistant coach at La Salle, takes over for Tom Kehoe, who was not rehired after 10 seasons.
