Haddonfield names Friel, DiPol

Haddonfield High has named Lauren Friel its new girls' basketball coach and Pete DiPol its head wrestling coach. Friel was an assistant last season at Ursinus College. Before that, she assisted at Cardinal O'Hara from 2003 to 2007. O'Hara is one of the premier programs in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Haddonfield High has named Lauren Friel its new girls' basketball coach and Pete DiPol its head wrestling coach.

Friel was an assistant last season at Ursinus College. Before that, she assisted at Cardinal O'Hara from 2003 to 2007. O'Hara is one of the premier programs in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Friel also was head coach at Lower Merion from 1997 to 2003 and Radnor from 1992 to 1997.

Friel replaces Terry Mancini, who resigned in the spring.

DiPol was the head wrestling coach at Camden Catholic the previous two seasons. He also has been head coach at Schalick (2000-03) and Edgewood (1998-2000), which is now Winslow Township.

DiPol takes over for Chuck Klaus, who resigned during the summer.
