Pa. Girls: Friends' Central slips past Springside

The Phoenix needed to rally from a deficit in the fourth quarter to pull the game out, scoring 13 of the quarter's 20 points.
Although Springside's Katie Rutan led all scorers with 22 points, she was "held" to just three three-point shots. She had eight three-pointers in her previous game.
Friends' Central will play host Hill School in the championship game today (4:45 p.m.).
Hill School earned its spot with a 50-25 first-round win over Westtown. Megan Kelly led the way with 11 points.
Abington Ghost Tournament
. Tonight's championship game figures to be a lot more competitive than the semifinals were, with the title game pitting neighboring nonleague rivals Abington and St. Basil.
Abington defeated Abington Friends, 77-25, behind Emily Leer's 25 points, and St. Basil thumped Central Bucks West, 70-19, as Siobhan O'Donnell scored 12 points.
Oreland Lions.
At Springfield (Montco), Bobbi Caprice and Stephanie D'Ottaviano combined for 23 Marple Newtown points in a 33-30 first-round tournament victory over Jenkintown. Caprice scored 12 points and D'Ottaviano added 11.
Springfield (Delco) Tournament.
MyNeshia McKenzie's 11 points and 11 rebounds led the host Cougars past Unionville, 47-30, in a first-round game.
The Cougars will play Central Bucks South in today's title game. The Titans beat Penn Wood, 45-28, in the other semifinal.
Friends Select Tournament.
Erin Holmes scored eight points and added seven rebounds to lead MaST Charter to a 25-12 win over Nueva Esperanza in a first-round game.
Upper Merion Tournament.
Elle Hagedorn's 12 points led Mount St. Joseph to a 36-17 win over Conestoga in a first-round game.
Hatboro-Horsham Tournament.
Jessica Sylvester had an impressive debut for Nazareth Academy, hitting six three-pointers for all 18 of her points, in a 59-37 first-round win over New Hope-Solebury.
In the other semifinal, Lauren Anderson scored 10 points to lead the host Hatters past Northeast, 48-30.
Hazleton Tournament.
Cheltenham's Shayla Felder, a 5-3 guard, made all 16 of her free throws and finished with 20 points in a 43-32 win over Abington Heights in a first-round game.
Germantown Community Tournament
. The host Tigers scored 14 of the first 15 points of the game and coasted to a 44-30 win over Bodine in a first-round game. Nina Voith scored 34 points to lead the Tigers.
Methacton Tournament.
Kristen Fuery hit three three-pointers in a row and finished with 23 points to lead Upper Dublin past North Penn, 61-51, in a first-round game.
Catholic.
Three players scored in double figures as Cardinal O'Hara rolled to a 59-27 win at St. Hubert, the 600th victory in the coaching career of Lions mentor Linus McGinty. Stephanie Holzer led the way with 18 points and Natasha Cloud and Alysha Womack added 12 apiece.
Nonleague.
In a game played in Virginia Beach (Va.), Drew Dalchaitus hit a three-pointer with 4.4 seconds left to lift Neumann-Goretti to a 50-49 win over Bishop Sullivan.
Helen Levins scored six of her 14 points in the first quarter as host Masterman got off to a good start in a 46-33 win over Mastbaum.
Jatoya Harris scored 11 of her game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter and added six more in overtime to lead host Olney past Swenson, 62-56.
