The Prep (1-1) grabbed a 22-12 lead in the first quarter, but the Friars (5-2) used a press to spark a 10-0 scoring run during a 15-2 fourth quarter scoring effort.

Detrain Walker led Malvern with 15 points.

In Miami, Fla., Tom Coney went 8 for 8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter and finished with 26 points to lead La Salle past Christopher Columbus (Fla.), 59-56, in a semifinal game.

John Creating and Steve Holland led a balanced scoring attack with 17 points each and boosted Hope Charter past visiting Lamberton, 72-69.

Hassan Jones went 7 for 8 from the foul line in the final quarter and scored 18 points as Bok beat visiting Furness, 58-54.

FitzSimons roared from behind with a 28-10 scoring effort in the third quarter and handed visiting Roxborough its first loss of the season, 80-75.

Kion Coats paced the Rams with 24 points.

Dan Shackelton collected 14 points and boosted Great Valley past host Oxford, 38-36.

Try-County.

Mike Maciejewski scored the 1,000th point of his career for Mercy Vocational, but it didn't stop host Phelps from posting a 74-57 victory.

Maciejewski scored 11 points, including the 1,000th point in the second quarter, and finished the game with 1,007 career points. Glenn Richards scored 28 points for the Lions.

Woodlynde got 21 points from Ben Grant and edged host Barrack Hebrew, 65-63.

Nonleague.

Chris Harmon scored 19 points and helped Central Bucks East hold off host Wissahickon, 75-72.

Girls' Basketball

Chelsea Kada nailed a pair of free throws with 5 seconds left to give Little Flower a 47-45 win over visiting St. Hubert in a Catholic League game.

Kada was 7 for 8 from the free throw line in the final quarter.

Ches-Mont.

Elisa Gaffney hit two free throws with 10 seconds left in overtime to give Coatesville a 62-60 win over host West Chester East.

Gaffney scored 14 points and teammate Bonnie Sandone added 21 points for the Red Raiders.

In other league games:

Michaela Rucci hit a buzzer-beater to give Oxford a 34-32 win over host Great Valley.

Rucci scored six points and teammates Naya Delancey and Erica Marvel chipped in with 11 points each for the Hornets.

Erin Donnelly struck for 17 points and led Octorara past host Kennett, 37-35.

Sam Wilson scored a career-high 21 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and drove in for the winning three-point play with 30 seconds left to give Sun Valley a 49-45 win over visiting Bayard Rustin.

Tri-County.

Tara Moskowitz picked up 21 points, nine steals and eight rebounds to help Barrack Hebrew get past host Woodlynde, 35-29.

Catholic Academies.

Elle Hagedorn picked up 18 points and helped Mount St. Joseph beat host St. Basil in overtime, 51-46.

Emily Corzel scored five of her 11 points in the final quarter and led Merion Mercy past host Gwynedd-Mercy, 29-24.
