4 named all-state in AAA football

Owen J. Roberts sophomore Ryan Brumfield ran for 2,254 yards this fall and ran his way onto the Associated Press' State Class AAA all-state football team.

Brumfield joined Archbishop Wood lineman Adam Citko, Strath Haven linebacker David Alayankian, and Pottsgrove linebacker Preston Hamlette on the first team, which was selected by state sportswriters and broadcasters.

Brumfield, who helped the Wildcats to a 10-3 record, is the only sophomore selected to the first team.

Citko, a 6-foot-5, 320-pound senior who was part of the Wood team that reached the state final, will attend Temple next fall.

Hamlette had 198 tackles for an 11-2 Pottsgrove team that won the Pioneer Athletic Conference championship.
