La Salle needed last-second three-pointers by Mike Poncia at the end of regulation and by Tom Cooney at the end of overtime to escape with a 53-50 win at Monsignor Bonner yesterday in Catholic League boys' basketball.

Poncia's shot from four feet outside the three-point line with one second left in the fourth quarter tied the game at 42-42. Cooney netted his fourth three of the contest from the corner as time expired in OT. He finished with 18 points.

Also in the Catholic League, St. Joseph's Prep knocked off host Archbishop Ryan, 60-43, as Pat Stewart collected 19 points and seven assists, and Pete Buzby snagged nine boards. Ryan's Anthony Keiter (19 points) made five three-pointers.
