S. Jersey Girls: Spady sparks victory

Amber Spady of Westampton Tech poured in 34 points, including a school-record six three-point baskets, and was named the most valuable player as the host took last night's title game of the Westampton Tech girls' basketball tournament, 85-48, over Pennsauken Tech.

Latese Hickson added 25 points and Brittanie Payne netted 20 for Westampton Tech, which roared out to a 41-4 lead.

In the consolation game, Alexis Peterson had 21 points, Robin Perins scored 15 and Kristin Bradley chipped in 13 points to power Medford Tech past Camden County Tech, 62-36.

Olympic.

Ashley Giedemann (16 points), Shawna Wert (14) and Alyse Maiden (11) fueled the Washington Township attack in a 65-33 romp past visiting Winslow Township.

The tandem of Melissa Chu (23 points) and Anna Thomann (19) proved too much, as Shawnee methodically pulled away from host Paul VI, 61-44.

Burlington County.

Host Bordentown rode 19 points by Alicia Pickett to a 34-33 triumph over North Burlington.

Taylor Umbrell, with 10 points, was the lone double-figure scorer for Delran in the Bears' 45-34 victory at Moorestown.

Tri-County.

Clearview rallied from an 11-2 deficit, getting 16 points from Kiley Grabbe and 11 by Melanie Mahan, and went on to thump host Kingsway, 43-27.

Stephanie Gardner and Kendra Garrison scored 18 points apiece in Glassboro's 48-34 victory over visiting Woodstown. Lauren Husser posted 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Wolverines.

Cori Conner totaled 17 points and 11 rebounds for host Gloucester, which jumped on top early and held on to edge Salem, 54-49.

Cape-Atlantic.

Toni Ann DeSantis (12 points) and Chrissy Casiello (11) paced a balanced attack as host Wildwood Catholic rolled over Cape May Tech, 45-27.

Nonleague.

Samantha Morris of Deptford led all scorers with 22 points, and the Spartans used a 35-13 spree over the second and third quarters to put away host Lindenwold, 56-25.

Maddie McComb's double-double featured 21 points and a dozen rebounds in Haddon Township's 53-22 win at Camden Academy Charter.
