Quakers win on Stutz's shot

Katie Stutz buried a three-pointer with three seconds remaining, giving her 14 points and making Moorestown Friends a 40-38 winner at Friends Select yesterday in Friends Schools League girls' basketball.

Burlington County.

Kerby Coulanges and Danielle Lee scored 18 apiece for host Burlington Township, which opened the game with a 17-3 run and didn't let up in dispatching New Egypt, 55-39. The Warriors' Emily Bausher led all scorers with 19 points.

Tri-County.

Clearview had 11 players score, led by Kiley Grabbe's 16 points, in a 53-20 romp at Pitman.

Alyssa Wiggins had 12 points while Liz Faulkner and Taylor Johnson added 10 apiece, offsetting an 18-point performance by Schalick's Victoria Wright and leading Kingsway to an easy 45-30 road win.

Cape-Atlantic.

Tiana Cannon (17 points) and Bria Hill (13) starred for Atlantic City, which broke the game open with a 21-6 fourth quarter in downing host Oakcrest, 54-28.

Nonleague.

Olivia Hall dominated the paint - totaling 23 points and 22 rebounds - and Brittany Achilles (13 points) ignited a 20-9 fourth-quarter spree in host Doane Academy's 52-43 triumph over Life Center.

Bob Allibone shot 7 for 11 from the field in scoring 18 points, and Joey Kane picked up 10 of his 12 points in a 20-8 third-quarter blitz to allow host Delran to pull away from Bordentown, 53-43, in the Burlington County League.

Joe Ricks scored 17 for the Scotties, who held a three-point lead at halftime.

In other Burlco action:

Maple Shade's Kyle Banks (28 points) won the scoring duel, but Quron Pratt (25) and a balanced attack helped host Palmyra to come out on top, 86-53. Warren Oliver added 16 points, Dante Hickson had 13 and Steven Morris scored 10 for the Panthers.

Rancocas Valley shared the wealth on offense, getting double-figure scoring from Nnamdi Njoku (13 points), Kendall White (12), Mike Bersch (11) and Kenny Johnson (10), as the Red Devils pleased the home crowd by crushing Cinnaminson, 64-31.

Kevin Burke's three-pointer with 12 seconds left finished off Clearview's 45-43 home win over Schalick.

David Follis posted 26 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in Clayton's 56-40 victory at Delsea.

Bobby Harris keyed Eastern's long-range assault, knocking down four of the Vikings' 10 three-pointers to finish with 21 points, and Shumeek Scott added 16 points in a 69-43 rout of visiting Pennsauken Tech.

John Thomas came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points in host Washington Township's 59-35 win over Vineland.

Ryan Karr capped his 22-point outing by converting 6 of 6 foul shots in the fourth quarter, as host Pennsville edged Camden Academy Charter, 56-54.

Mike Myers scored 18 points, grabbed a dozen rebounds and dealt three assists in guiding host Moorestown past Moorestown Friends, 42-37.

Steve Nelson's second-period pin at 130 pounds cemented Haddon Township's 37-35 victory at Audubon in a Colonial Conference thriller.

Justin Anderson-Copes flattened his opponent in 1 minute, 11 seconds at 140 pounds, starting a string of five consecutive pins by Pennsauken in a 51-24 win over Gloucester Catholic.

Paulsboro erased an early deficit with pins by Anthony Knauer (103 pounds), Michael Zold (112) and Dymere Rappa (119) to conquer visiting Clearview, 49-15.
