La Salle soccer duo to play in Italy
La Salle High freshmen Darius Madison and Gabriel Robinson have been selected for U.S. Youth Soccer's under-15 boys' team in Region I.
La Salle High freshmen Darius Madison and Gabriel Robinson have been selected for U.S. Youth Soccer's under-15 boys' team in Region I.
"I couldn't be happier for them," Explorers coach Bob Peffle said.
The Region I team will represent the United States in an eight-country international tournament from April 4 to April 13 in Biella, Italy.
The region is composed of the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, New York, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine.
Madison and Robinson were two of the 13 players selected last week. More will be chosen in March.
Madison, a forward who finished the season with eight goals, and Robinson, a defender, helped the Explorers advance to the Philadelphia Catholic League's championship game last season.
La Salle lost the contest to North Catholic.
