Deptford to face Shawnee in basketball

"They have such a storied history," Hoskins said. "We've got a lot of work to do to get ready."
Second-seeded Deptford advanced to the semifinal round of the South Jersey Group 3 tournament with a 59-48 victory over Lacey Township last night.
Third-seeded Shawnee advanced with a victory over Timber Creek.
Senior guard Erv Ezell scored 21, and senior forward Jared Winningham added 17 for Deptford.
Deptford broke to a 15-0 lead, but Lacey Township battled back and tied the score at 33-33 midway in the third quarter.
The Spartans surged away behind Ezell and Winningham, who combined for 14 points in the fourth quarter.
"It's win or go home," Ezell said. "We've got to play hard in our next game. We know they [Shawnee] are a great team, but we're going to play our hardest with the idea that we're going to win."
