Tonight, three Southeastern Pennsylvania boys' basketball teams will attempt to advance to the PIAA finals. Here's a look at the games involving area teams:
Class AAAA
Penn Wood (26-4) vs. Mount Lebanon (24-5), at Big Spring High in Newville, 7 p.m.:
Mount Lebanon's Deion Turman, a 6-foot-8 center, provides an inside presence. But he can't overcome a size disadvantage against a Patriots team with four players at 6-5 or taller.
Prediction:
Penn Wood runs away with it after intermission.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (25-5) vs. William Penn (31-1), at Reading High in Reading, 7:30 p.m. William Penn is regarded as the best team in school history, statistically. But the Colonials won't be intimidated as forwards C.J Aiken (6-9) and Jaylen Bond (6-6) can dominate. Prediction: Plymouth Whitemarsh prevails.
Class AA
Hughesville (23-5) vs. Imhotep Charter (30-1), at East Pennsboro High in Enola, 7 p.m.:
Hughesville boasts the school's all-time leading scorer in 6-3 senior guard Rezin Davis. Imhotep boasts arguably the state's deepest and talented group of guards.
Prediction:
Imhotep Charter advances.
