Cardinal O'Hara girls' coach Linus McGinty, who earlier this season notched his 600th career victory, has been selected to be a head coach in the 18th annual Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) High School All-America Game.
The game, which features 20 of the nation's top senior players, is scheduled for April 4 at Washington University's Athletic Complex in St. Louis.
O'Hara also will be represented by 6-foot-4 center Stephanie Holzer. Although unable to play because of a broken right ankle, the Vanderbilt recruit plans to be there to support her coach and fellow all-stars.
McGinty, who guided the Lions to a 27-3 record and the PIAA Class AAAA state championship game this season, was named the 2009 Russell Athletic/WBCA National High School Coach of the Year.
In 27 varsity seasons, McGinty has a record of 626-107 (.854 winning percentage).
