S. Jersey Girls: Trotter no-hits Clearview in opener

Trotter silenced the Pioneers' bats, striking out eight and walking two, and enjoyed a big day at the plate that included a pair of bases-loaded doubles.

After yielding Megan Grasso's three-run home run in the first inning, Sam Shockey settled down to strike out 11, and shut out Highland the rest of the way, allowing host Deptford to rally for a 7-3 win.

Burlington County. Kim Wolfe lost her shutout bid in the seventh inning, but struck out eight while limiting Moorestown to one hit as host Rancocas Valley prevailed, 5-1. Amy Gentile knocked in a pair of runs for the Red Devils.

Abbey Houston fanned a dozen batters in tossing a two-hit shutout and keyed the New Egypt attack with three doubles and three RBIs, sending the Warriors to an 11-0 rout of visiting Cinnaminson. Kayla Soles and Haley Anderson also drove in three runs apiece.

Danielle McNeill's three-run single in the sixth inning started Delran on its way to a 6-2 come-from-behind win at Florence.

Courtney Conrey and Chelsea Holliday combined for three hits, two RBIs and four runs, allowing host Burlington Township to outlast Willingboro, 10-7.

Shireese Borden singled twice and scored three times in leading Westampton Tech to a 7-2 victory at Pemberton.

Bordentown used a four-run outburst in the fourth inning to pull out a 5-0 decision at Holy Cross.

Nonleague. Junior Jen Metzger, who amassed 241 strikeouts during her freshman season but missed last season due to an arm injury, made a triumphant return for Overbrook by fanning 15 and allowing one hit in a 3-0 triumph over visiting Penns Grove. Metzger lost her no-hit bid with two outs in the sixth inning.

Overbrook won it by stringing together five hits in a three-run fifth-inning rally, including a two-run double by Alyssa Habina.

Sam Lemm pitched a two-hit shutout and knocked in two runs with a single and a double, highlighting Eastern's 2-0 victory over visiting Bishop Eustace.

Annie Zeilman's bases-loaded triple ignited a nine-run third-inning rally, and Allison Pfrommer hurled a two-hit shutout in host Delsea's 12-0 drubbing of Burlington City. The Crusaders' Amanda Schwegel and Lauren O'Rourke combined for two hits, three runs and four RBIs.

Sophomore Alyson Yacono batted 4 for 4, scored three times and drove in four runs, while Kaitlyn McIlvaine pitched a one-hit shutout in Pitman's 13-0 romp at Camden County Tech.

Haley Snyder and Amanda Hershey had two RBIs apiece to back a one-hit shutout by Monica Olivo, helping host Pennsauken make quick work of Woodrow Wilson, 10-0.

Beatriz Viera had a double and a triple, Cassie Concepcion homered and host Pennsauken Tech jumped on top early in defeating Camden, 7-4.

Girls' Lacrosse

Alexa Lodovici and Carlie Rouh scored five goals apiece in carrying Eastern to an 18-3 romp at Winslow Township.

Carly Seidel's hat trick accounted for all of the Eagles' scoring.
