With arm and bat, Crowley saves day for Haddon Twp.

Township manufactured a run in the bottom of the sixth inning, when Jessica Dochney bunted for a single, stole second and third, and raced home on a one-out groundout by Crowley.

When winning pitcher Chelsea Bond ran into trouble in the top of the seventh, Crowley came on to wriggle out of a bases-loaded two-out jam by striking out the last batter of the game.

In other Colonial Conference action:

Host Overbrook made the most of its two hits to scratch out a pair of runs in the third inning, and Jen Metzger struck out 15 en route to a 2-1 triumph over visiting Sterling.

Sarah Buchhofer started the pivotal two-out rally by working a walk and then scoring on Jen Metzger's triple. Nicole Snyder followed with a single on a 2-2 pitch, bringing home Metzger with the eventual winning run.

Emily Neissner knocked in four runs with two doubles and a home run, and Audubon pushed across nine runs in the seventh inning to finish off host Gateway, 17-5.

Cape-Atlantic. Leanne Miller shut down host Ocean City with a perfect-game performance that included 11 strikeouts, and the Vineland offense was keyed by Dana Parks and Maritza Jimenez - who combined for four hits and four runs - in the Clan's 14-0 romp.

Nicole Pagano, who combined with reliever Liz Puentes on a no-hitter, batted 4 for 4 with four RBIs as St. Joseph went deep early and often in an 11-0 win at Our Lady of Mercy. Giana Cavallo (3 for 3, 4 RBIs) hit a three-run homer, and Pagano and Morgan Earling belted two-run shots in the Wildcats' 13-hit attack.

Kassie Barrett picked up three RBIs on a pair of doubles and a two-run home run, and Mainland received solo shots from Ashley Yurkiewicz and Samantha Randour in taking a 6-3 triumph at Oakcrest.

Burlington County. Sophomore Taylor Steele retired a dozen batters on strikes, boosting her season total to 92 strikeouts in 59 innings, as host Holy Cross held off Palmyra, 3-1.

Olympic. Kelly Dickinson fanned 10 while limiting Winslow Township to one hit, and received plenty of offensive support from Michelle Pezzato (3 for 3, 3 runs) and Kristen Soprano (2 for 3, 3 runs) in Shawnee's 10-0 home win.

Baseball

Jeremy Cruz slugged a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to end Winslow Township's 8-6 Olympic Conference thriller over visiting Shawnee.

Cherokee, ranked No. 10 in South Jersey by The Inquirer, spotted visiting Lenape a 5-0 lead before rallying to win, 7-6, on Tyler Powell's game-winning leadoff homer in the bottom of the seventh.

Derek Johnson had a three-run double in Lenape's five-run first inning, but the Chiefs came back as Eric Barbieri hit a fourth-inning grand slam and a tying home run in the sixth.

Brett Motta's two-out, two-run single in the fourth inning capped Cherry Hill West's comeback from a 4-1 deficit to beat visiting Pennsauken, 6-4.

Colonial. Reliever Tom Ross got a strikeout with the bases loaded to put the finishing touches on Overbrook's 8-6 win at Woodbury. Alex Parisi piled up three hits, two RBIs and a stolen base.

Burlington County. Mike Cooper fanned 10 Burlington Township hitters in six innings, and Matt Cann went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs as host Cinnaminson prevailed, 5-1.

Cape-Atlantic. Chris Giacomelli's two-run single in the fifth inning put Sacred Heart ahead to stay en route to a 5-4 win at Buena.

Mainland edged visiting Oakcrest, 6-5, as Matt Crowne singled in the tying run and Chris Devine (3 for 4) followed with the game-winning RBI double.

Nonleague. Haddon Heights outslugged visiting Paul VI, 16-14, in a game that included a total of 39 hits.
